The Big Bang
· poetry
The Big Bang flung you out in tiny little pieces A chaotic flux of matter mixed with energy releases Hurtling into time and space On a journey to create your beautiful face
Your quarks were born amidst gamma rays Hadrons and nuclei were just minutes away Eons later an atom was formed You really got going when stars became warm
A carbon atom forged by a star Continued its course to just where you are Trillions of atoms converged here on Earth To gather together on the day of your birth
The odds of this event are beyond comprehension You here with me in this space-time dimension Your journey took you to the place that I’d be All I can say is “Lucky me!”
