My origin do I yearn

The place from which I set out on my journey Long ago

I follow the path with only what I came here with

Red right return

Before I packed all of the useless things along the way

The brainwashing attempts to scrub me clean

I’m a dirty monkey and that’s how I want to be

Monkey shines all day

I’ll stay in the sun til I burn

Just how I like it

I push to all the limits until I do myself harm

Fueled by my boyish charm

Never changing who I am

For me there is no wrong turn

I’ve been on this path since birth

Running around the earth

Being me

Notes:

This was pure raw subconscious flow of words with no pretense or forethought. Probably the purest thing I’ve ever written. Truly me in the most fundamental sense of me. The poem itself is an example of its very meaning, in its own words. It wrote itself from the deepest depths of my mind.
