One if by Land, Two if by Sea
· poetry
Two blue herons flew overhead, heading out to sea
A white heron crossed their path to weave a wonder for me
The grey fog and mist, a backdrop to this morning scene,
Is contrast to this aerial display of color brisk and clean
I take the moment- and breathe a sigh- and ponder what I was meant to glean
I smile when all I find in mind is peaceful and serene
