My Piece of Infinity
· poetry
White out in front of me
Blinded by the light
Billions of photons aimed right at my face
It should be an act of bravery to not turn away
But it’s just another day
In the cosmos
I woke up alive
It’s funny that you don’t know how to wake up any other way
Until you do
Then you won’t
And it will be just another day
In the cosmos
I’m a magician
I’ve forced octillions of bits to do my bidding
Or is it the other way around
And I’m a pawn
As I yawn to another dawn
In the cosmos
Where I do my best to make the most of it
And yet, when you consider it
What an acquisitive and presumptuous endeavor that is
To get most of infinity
I’ll settle for a peaceful piece
