Grey Matter

From within a grey matter haze
The sky’s thoughts untwist
Into a myriad of birds in flight
To clear its own malaise
Each unique in color and hue
Vivid points from which to choose
Alight to offer a choice to make
In-flight unveiling a path to take
Pondering the preponderance
Regarding the regardless
Considering the consequence
Admiring the meaningless
Freedom of thought and choice
Each day is anew with a voice
That offers a chance of life
Or to continue to linger in strife
