Fire

· poetry

I am a glowing red complement to my fuel

A necessary gift to renewal

Water, Earth, and Air are my siblings

And yet their product is my kindling

I am hated, yet needed to clear out the excess

I am feared despite my warmth and my kindness

My burns are lessons that must be learned

My respect is a virtue that must be earned

I glow when I am content

When my extra energy is spent

Sometimes a spark is all I need to resume my fury

And continue to rage and make everyone worry

I can be hell on earth, I can bring warmth like the sun

I am infernal, but not an evil one

Mostly I am feared, but often I am revered

There is grief or relief when I have disappeared
